Wonjae Sou photographs the sacred trees around the world in a way that he treats trees as individual beings equal to humans. He portrays “their world” through infrared photographs.
When the infrared light invisible to the human eye meets the photographs, we can discover their images in a new aspect that is generally unseen. The reason why trees have been scared since ancient times is that trees live for hundreds of years in their own time and universe whereas humans live in the same period with them for a short time. His attachment to these extraordinary trees creates a beautiful image in which the old tales about the trees hide like a mystical legend.
